~ OUR MUSIC LEADERSHIP ~
SHEREE MACK: ORGAN / PIANOSheree was given the opportunity to take piano lessons as a young child. Her piano instructor was also the organist at the Lutheran church she attended. Therefore, when she showed an interest in the organ, her instructor began to groom her to become a church organist by allowing her to play portions of the worship service. She began regular Sunday duties as a teenager. She has been happy to serve the Lord and the various congregations where she has been a member over the past several years as organist, choir accompanist, and choir director.
BEV HELGESON: ORGAN / PIANOBev began taking piano lessons at age six and and organ lessons followed. During high school she became a church organist and over the years has been a part of a church organist staff in all of the churches of which she has been a member. When the fourth son was off to college she began her career as a piano teacher and enjoyed working with up to 24 students per week and continued this until her move to Colorado.
GRANT DRENKOW: ORGAN / PIANOGrant started piano lessons early in life and organ lessons at age 14. A year later the he became the church organist when the regular organist fell and broke her wrist. Although he studied engineering in college he played at 3 churches, continued to take organ lessons and minored in music. Grant has worked as an organist in Lutheran churches in Nebraska, South Dakota, and Colorado. He continues to work on his life goal to play all the major organ works of J.S. Bach.
LINDA TOMASEK: ADULT CHOIR DIRECTORLinda was raised in Westminster, Colorado. She started music lessons early in life when the family purchased a used piano from friends. She has taken piano and guitar instruction. Her interest in music expanded as she participated in many musical programs throughout school years and beyond. She became a choir director 26 years ago in Loveland when the existing director had to leave and asked her to “fill in” for her. She has been directing adult and children’s choir ever since. She is thankful that the Lord has chosen her to lead our choir as they sing praises to our God.
ED SPRENG: GUITAREd started playing violin at age 11 when a new teacher arrived in town with a special deal for beginning students. After two years of lessons he jumped to guitar where he taught himself. Playing in bands throughout his younger years, Ed now shares his musical talents with us playing pre-service music and accompanying the congregation and choirs.
ALLISON DRENKOW: CELLOAllison started piano lessons at age 5 and cello at age 7. She enjoys composing music, dancing, singing in an acappella choir, and playing cello in orchestra and small ensembles. Allison currently attends the Peabody Institute of Music at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland where she is majoring in cello performance. Allison shares her musical talent in our worship services when she is at home in Colorado.
BRIAN OTTEMAN: CHILDRENS’ CHOIR DIRECTOREven as a child, Brian was always interested in music. He began piano lessons at the age of 4, and studied Piano extensively through Jr. High and High School. Brian also plays the Trombone. Today, Brian is active in the Adult choir and Directs the Childrens’ Choir.
